This is book 2 and you HAVE to read book 1 (Imperfect) first since you will miss a lot and be lost. With that said, this book overall is much darker then book 1, but so much emotion is in it.
Mason doesn’t want to lose Julia so he in a way kidnaps her…that is where we start, but nowhere near where this story ends. Jules is lost and confused and hurt and pissed and yet she loves Mason but she knows she can’t stay there, she can’t forgive him.
One of the best things of this duet is the poems that Willow adds to the beginning of each chapter. There is so much emotion in them without even reading the rest.
But this is a book you can not put now as you have to know what happens. Lies, betrayal, hurt, kidnapping, running away, despair, losing everything, and mostly love…where does that all lead us. Are there things are that really are UNFORGIVABLE or can we in the end get past the hurt and “events” and let our love through.
Willow has a way with words that can show us how much in love two people can be and yet can also show the hurt that is there, 2 different emotions at the same time really come through the pages of this book.
Review of book 1:
Wow, Wow, Wow! This book is amazing and yet it does end on a HUGE cliffhanger. (But it is a duet so I wouldn’t expect any less).
Mason and Jules have amazing chemistry and you can’t help but love the two of them together. Mason is this good guy right from the start and Jules is *scared*, she hasn’t done any dating since losing her husband about 8 months prior, and it was her looking for Mason, but she found him and was intrigued and couldn’t help the connection and chemistry.
This is a book you will have trouble putting down.
