Technically, you aren’t supposed to fall in love with your best friend’s girl.

But if we’re talking technicalities, he wasn’t supposed to be cheating on her every other weekend, either.

The day I met Mira York, I knew she was off-limits. But after months of stealing side-glances while he ruined the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen, I realized there wasn’t a rule in the world I wouldn’t break to make her mine.

She chose him anyway.

I wasn’t sure how I’d ever move on, but bitterness turned into fuel for my fire.

Without Mira, I thrived.

Until seventeen years later, when she showed back up, begging for protection from the very same man she’d left me for all those years earlier.

Now, it was my turn to choose.

And she wasn’t going to like my answer.

THRIVE takes place seventeen years AFTER a love triangle.

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.

She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.

Finally Found by Emma Nichols

Adam….I have no words for him.  I loved him.  A former playboy who on the night of his 30th birthday decided he wanted more from his life then to just sleep around after talking to the bartender at the party Cammie.
Cammie is witty and doesn’t fall for Adam’s charms. But she pushes his buttons in all the right ways to make you love her and their story.  This was an easy read and I had trouble putting it down.  But Adam will do anything with Cammie over and every step of the way you just love him more.
The biggest obstacle in their romance is her sister…But I love their banter, their love, everything. Adam is just the sweetest and this book did not disappoint.

Buttons and Lace by Penelope Sky

This is book 1 in a series of 3.  It is very very dark, but you can also see so much caring as well which balances it out in a way.  Pearl is one tough lady and I love that she never gave up her fight, which unfortunately for her is part of what these men liked about her.  I hope we continue to see her fight and strength throughout the rest of the series.  Crow is both dark and sweet and I hope we can see Pearl tame Crow enough to justify them being able to be together.  I do hope we see the revenge on.. (Not giving away spoilers) though.  This was a book that I could not put down.  This book is so much better then 50 Shades and a must read for people who like the darker romance.  Note: There are things like rape, abuse so if this is not something you can handle I would skip the read…but while it isn’t my favorite the book itself was one that no one seems to be able to put down.

Wind River Rancher by Lindsay McKenna

** this book is released Dec 27th, 2016

A down on his luck former Marine named Reese winds up in the small town outside of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  He lucks out as this is a town who loves hiring vets so they can get back on their feet.  They gave so much to this country this is the least the town can do.  This is where he meets Shay, who owns the Bar C ranch and also happens to be former military.  Reese struggles with PTSD and had some issues with his past relationship so is beyond scared to ever try anything with a woman again, especially sharing a bed at night.  There are 3 other vets that live on the ranch and we get to learn about all of them and they each bring a specialty to the ranch.  Reese happens to be great with numbers so helps out as the bookkeeper.

As Reese adapts to life on the ranch he helps with getting the Bar C back on its feet.  But really he is rebuilding himself and is becoming a better man.  He and Shay fall in love with each other but of course, it takes time and is a great buildup!  I love that it was a slow buildup and that they never rushed things.  That we saw them both grow as individuals and as friends first.

Let me just say Reese seems to be one hot cowboy. **Drool Drool**

His citrusy, musky cologne alerts me to his presence first. Probably some expensive brand that I’ve never heard of, but damn if it’s not like honey to a bear, and I’m the bear.“So, we meet again,” he says, stopping next to me at the end of the plank.

The scent of his cologne intensifies, pouring that honey into buckets.

I glance over, and his eyes are solely on me. That damn grin is splashed on his lips.

“Don’t worry. I left my weapon in the room.”

“And your gray sweatshirt, I see.”

Too bad he replaced it with a nice pair of slacks and a polo shirt. The blue in his shirt only causes his aqua eyes to become more vibrant and alluring.

He leans close to my ear, and my breathing hiccups quickly. “NFL quarterback by day, abductor at night.”

I square my shoulders, turning my eyes directly at him. “I’m sorry, okay? But what did you expect a woman to assume? It was dark, and you were some random guy sitting alone on a beach, trying to hide your face. That bubbling personality of yours wasn’t exactly exuding when I walked by.”

I cross my arms over my chest, and his eyes focus on my pushed up breasts.

“I suppose I see your point.”

“Plus, you’re a big guy, and I think you could have handled me pretty easily,” I add.

That damn smirk grows. “So, the thought of us together crossed your mind, too?”

My face instantly heats. “I meant, you pinning me to the ground.” Once the words leave my mouth, I wish I could grab them back, but he’s too quick.

His eyes flash with excitement, and he widens his stance.

“What?” I ask out of pure annoyance to the fluster this man brings out of me.

“I’m just waiting,” he says with his classic flirtatious tone.

“For what?”

“To hear how you wish last night would have turned out.”

“Ugh. You’re impossible. A typical pro athlete who believes every girl is for your taking.”

“I’m just going along with what you’ve been telling me.”

“Let’s just get through this dinner. Then, you can go to the pool bar and use your charm to pick up a random girl for the night.”

He chuckles that hearty laugh, rolling back on his heels. “You’re one of those then?” He purses his lips and nods, as though he has me all figured out.

“One of who?”

“The girl who acts like she’d never resort to sleeping with a pro athlete.”

“First off, I’m a woman, not a girl.”

My arms clamp tighter together, and again, his vision dips to my breasts.

“My apologies. You’re definitely a woman.” The side of his lips tip up as he glances down once more.

I let my arms fall, and his eyes float back to my eyes.

“I’m not playing a game, Mr. Garrity. I assure you, I don’t want you for a night or ever.”

He steps closer, and my heartbeat speeds up, but I stand my ground, meeting his eyes and trying everything in my power to be unfazed by his nearness.

“Oh, Miss Lincoln, I think you haven’t accepted what you want, but the night’s early.”

AMAZING BOOK…what else do I say.   I love that the main issue between Carly and Bryant isn’t your typical third party, I was shocked when I found out what comes between them.  I felt for Carly and Bryant and that neither of them was at fault for anything that has happened. I loved their drawn out tension of them getting back together with some awkward encounters.  And ultimately the reason they do get back together.   There are never any questions about their feelings, and their chance meeting at the beginning sets a great stage for their eventual dating. It is rare to find a book that you truly feel has it all…some angst, love, questions…this book does all of that without losing site of either person as an individual.

Terms of Service by Emma Nichols

Hannah is desperate, she was left by her husband with literally nothing but the apartment they were staying in, which she can’t afford to continue living in with her twin daughters.  Gavin was left by his wife and he wanted revenge on women…Gavin answers Hannah’s ad looking for someone to help take care of them.  Hannah is different from anyone he has ever met and there is instantly a connection.  She didn’t get his ideas of flirtation, etc because she thought that he wanted sex as part of their agreement.  It was a slow buildup of them actually being able to admit their feelings for the other. But like anything in life, you start out with the wrong motivation it will come back and bite you in the rear.
I love that this is a story of second chances and also of a single mother.  There are not enough books that deal with that which made it even more exciting for me to read.

A Colorful Life Drawn in Broken Crayon by Melissa Storm

I happened to get this book for free from the author and therefore was not sure what to expect when reading.  But I found this book to start a little slow but after the slow start it was a very enjoyable read.  I was not ready for it to end but honestly the ending was so perfect.   There is a little bit of everything in this book, love, heartbreak, forgiveness, redemption and fate.  You want to cry at points, you smile so big at points and you leave this read feeling satisfied.  I recommend this book! 🙂
