Ivy Hayes

Dating can be a rocky journey. Once the new shine wears off, you may end up with a case of buyer’s remorse.
That’s where I come in. I set the backdrop and coach you through the breakup.
Don’t want overblown drama, hard feelings, or a drink tossed in your face? Then I’m your fairy godmother, child.

Becket Jones

As an NFL quarterback, endorsement ads and the media pandering after me are all part of the game.
Ivy Hayes is the first woman who doesn’t care about my money and the notoriety that goes along with it.
But I’m a long-term guy, and she operates strictly in the now. Which means I need to bring my A-game.

Otherwise, I’ll end up getting ditched.

Review:

A swoon worthy book with laughs and even a few tears.

Becket really is the perfect book boyfriend and you can tell he is just a sweet genuine guy all around and him and his friends are such a great dynamic. Ivy has a terrible past and she has tried to get away from it. I love that she is smart, strong, successful and has done all of it with her foster sister by her side. Ivy is agaist love, she doesn’t think it is for her…but Becket will put up a good fight.

I cracked up when she didn’t know who he was when they first met…although you soon find out that is not actually their first meeting. One of my favorite things about them though is their love of “the word of the day”. It is such a fun idea to throw into a book and it shows that both have a lot of brains and not just looks and/or football talent.

I think Becket and Ivy are a perfect match…things snuck up on both of them, and we watch them go on this journey, especially Ivy of finding out what love does to a person. How they started out slowly and just talking and really we saw them build a solid foundation before sex even entered the picture…those are some of my favorite types of stories and this one is no exception. Told in dual POV is such a great way to see how their feelings have developed and how they both felt, even if it was not something one wanted to admit. I loved the drama thrown in and the twist that gave us.

5 perfect stars.

I Need by Ella Fox

Title: I Need

Series: Enamorado Book 3
Author: Ella Fox
Genre: Contemporary (standalone)
Release Date: March 18, 2018

She’s single and not ready to mingle.

After the end of a months-long relationship with Mr. All Wrong, Emery Bellerose isn’t looking for love. In fact, it’s the farthest thing from her mind.

With the paparazzi camped outside of her house she has no choice but to stay next door with the new neighbors. That’s when Emery meets the man who makes her feel things she never knew she could.

He’s alone and wants to keep it that way.

Four years ago Spanish heartthrob Rafael Cruz’s life crashed and burned in a way he’s never recovered from. With his ability to trust obliterated he vowed to stay single and unattached forever.

But you know what they say about best-laid plans.

What’s supposed to be an uneventful family vacation in Malibu becomes a game changer thanks to Elvis, the meddling peacock no one realizes is playing matchmaker.

“You’ve already got one peacock, Emery—there is no need for another. What you need is a man.”

The intensity in his gaze heated my blood. I bit my lip as I cocked my head to the side. “Are you applying for the job?” I asked.
“I am,” he said. Sitting up straight, he leaned in closer and slid his hand behind my neck.
There was a rightness to the way he held me, something I’d never known could be felt between two people. His hand cupping the back of my neck gave me all of the feels— as did the sensation of his warm breath against my lips as he hovered above me. His eyes stayed locked on mine as he held still, and I realized he was waiting for me to give him the green light. I nodded once, my stomach fluttering at the relieved smile he gave before he kissed me.
Obviously I’d been kissed before, but when Rafael was the one doing it I realized I’d never been kissed well. I’d never felt more treasured than I did with one of his hands at the back of my neck while the other cupped my cheek. I raised my hands to his shoulders, sliding one around the back of his neck as he deepened the kiss. The first touch of his tongue against mine was electric, so much more than I’d ever known the act of kissing could feel like.
The heat and taste of him was so incredible that I couldn’t contain a moan as his tongue glided against mine. I shifted forward in an effort to be closer to him as my right hand trailed from his shoulder to his abdomen. The fingers on my left hand were busy running through his silky hair and still, I wanted more contact. I tried to get closer but without stopping the kiss, there was no way— and I damn sure wasn’t stopping. Either he sensed my frustration or he felt the same because the next thing I knew he’d dropped his hands to my waist. He lifted me up and into his lap like I weighed nothing, then groaned low in his throat as our upper bodies connected.

blog_review

This is the first book by this author I have read, so while it says book 3 this can definitely be read as a stand alone.  While I loved Rafe and Emery my favorite thing about this entire book is Elvis the peacock…he is just so much fun and I love him getting all excited.  Seems Elvis likes to play matchmaker on top of just being so fun.  I never knew a peacock could be such a fun character in the story.  And I will go back and read the other just to get more of him.
I love how much of a gentleman Rafe can be and yet he is also very alpha and take charge.  He is a dream man any woman could want.  While he went through a rough patch, I am glad he was over that before he met Emery though.
Emery’s return home was for me pretty funny even if the character herself wouldn’t agree.  She walked off her movie set to not look back.  I love the instant attraction Rafe and Em had for each other and the fact that neither could place what it was or why it happened.   It was like there was so much more to it then just their looks initially.
This is told in dual POV and you will laugh out loud often throughout this book.  If you like a good romance, with funny moments, and add in a loveable peacock and amazing family/friends this is definitely a book you would enjoy.

Review
You know it is a good comedy when you are laughing on the very first page.  I love Callie so much and Reid I can love at times and others I want to punch him.  He becomes a jerk too often for me though, but I am glad that it wasn’t as easy to get Callie to forgive him.  This book was so easy to read, it was fun and light and kept you laughing and yet still had some good drama to keep you invested and interested.
This book is told in dual POV and it is so much fun.  I love their thoughts and their interactions with others.  Although I do think we get more with Reid and his friend then we do with Callie in that regard.  Overall, a very enjoyable book.

Break the Ice, an all-new standalone and the conclusion to the hilarious Bedroom Games series from bestselling authors Piper Rayne is LIVE!

PRBreaktheIceBookCover5x8_HIGH

The Winter Games are over, but the bedroom games are just beginning…

This is about the time I normally hang up my snowboard and chill for a while. Except this year. This year, I’m dealing with what fate dealt me at the Winter Games—nope, not gold. A broken leg.

Since I’m not close to my family, I head to my best friend, Skylar’s pad to recoup. Turns out having your gorgeous, single, sexy friend wait on you hand and foot can blur the lines between friendship and romance.

Which is exactly why I’ve decided to help her find a boyfriend.

Yeah, you heard me right. I’m going to help her comb through every dating app available until she finds the perfect man. What else could remind me of my place in her life more than watching her fall for someone else?

I can deal. I’m used to pushing through pain. I’m an Olympian after all.

Excerpt

“Sky.” I follow her down the hall and up the stairs. “You need…” I swallow down the bile burning my throat.

She turns around when she reaches her childhood bedroom door. The same room that has pictures of Ben on her corkboard from some dance way back when. The room that holds all her memories of a happy childhood filled with fun, laughter and love. Doesn’t she realize, she has so much?

“What?”

“You need a date.”

Did that really just come out of my mouth?

“A date?”

I grab her hand and take her into my room, which is really her brother’s childhood room, and sit her down on the bed.

“Yeah, give me your phone.”

She digs it out of her pocket and places it in my palm.

I search the app store and select a dating app.

“GeekMatch?”

“Yep.”

“What about the more traditional ones?” she asks, leaning over to look at my phone. Her hair tickles my neck, and the scent of her perfume makes my dick twitch in my pants.

“You need a beta, remember?”

“Hmm.”

I go through her selfies and select one that doesn’t show how truly gorgeous she is. It’s hard to find one though because Skylar doesn’t have any bad pictures.

“I’m not sure about this, Beck.”

I fill out her form for her while she remains silent. Once I’m done, I hand it back over to her and she stares at the screen for a long time.

Our thighs are pressed against one another and I’m fairly sure the electricity running through my body is buzzing through hers, but her gaze is still glued to her phone.

“Okay,” she says, still sounding reluctant.

“Perfect. Now, Terminator.”

She smiles and her lips brush my cheek. “Sorry, for being so needy.”

“It’s the hazard of having girl friends, I suppose.”

“Friends?”

“Friend,” I clarify, standing up before my hands and lips listen to the instructions from my dick.

“You’ll help me pick someone out?” she asks.

“Of course.”

She walks out of my room, her gaze glued to her phone. I follow with my gaze glued to her ass.

Review:

You can never go wrong with a Piper Rayne book and this one is no exception. An exceptional best friends to lovers romance. I felt like with the previous two books in the series you always knew there were feelings between Beckett and Skylar but you never really understood. (and while I said that I do feel this book can be a complete stand-alone).

Being on the same page is really Beckett and Skylar’s biggest issue and with the background/history you really do understand them both and why it has taken so long. But honestly it happened when it was meant to.

It is an overall quick read and while we get some heavier topics overall this is a fun read that will leave you with a huge smile on your face. Told in dual POV you really understand both of them and even get to know them through the interactions in the opposite POV. Amazing job getting into these characters heads and making us really feel and understand them.

Review
If you love a good slow burn this is definitely a book for you.  Both Spencer and Abby think they are out of the league of the other and both think the other is also friend-zoning them.  We get so many great friendship moments between them and with the dual POV you do see how both of their feelings go beyond that.
I love Abby’s family and her best friend Sam.  I would be friends with Sam and they are so fun together and she really knows Abby in a way that we don’t get with her brothers.  Spencer seems to fit right in with everyone and I love how comfortable he felt right from the beginning.
I do love a good slow burn but honestly at times I felt it was really dragging and we were just having the same thing over and over.  But yet, the end result is so worth the wait.  And both characters were very likeable so that added to my enjoyment as well.
