Title: COUNTERFEIT BOYFRIEND

Author: Cindi Madsen

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Counterfeit Boyfriend:

My twin brother’s talked me into a lot of crazy things, but taking his place on a road trip with his girlfriend so he can party with his friends is a whole new level of insanity. What’s even more insane is I somehow find myself agreeing to it—thanks, alcohol, guilt, and bribery. I’m determined to undo the arrangement, but then I meet Gwen, this sexy redheaded hurricane of energy and brains.

And then she kisses me. Just like that, I’m driving her up the coast, on our way to a wedding with a mess of complications. With each hour and each stop, I’m falling harder and harder for a woman who doesn’t know my actual name.

I’m trying to do the right thing. Or the lesser of the wrong things. All my life I’ve had to clean up my brother’s messes, but for the first time ever, I’ve landed the upper hand in one of our switcheroo schemes. Now I’ve just got to come clean and convince Gwen that I’m the brother she should be with.

About Cindi:

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband, three children, and one overly-dramatic tomcat.

Review:

I liked the overall idea of the book, and I loved the characters. Ethan and Gwen are both likeable or rather loveable…but I had trouble with the fact that he couldn’t tell her the truth sooner. I mean, I know he liked he from the beginning and we probably wouldn’t have the same story, BUT….him doing stuff with her while she is thinking it is his brother was a little hard for me. (but I do give him some bonus points for TRYING to resist her). But she didn’t really think anything of the change in behavior and other then a brief thought she let it all go and didn’t dwell on it.

But she is so quirky and fun and I would honestly love to know her. She would be my bestie for sure. And her past is so hard, and I felt so bad for her. She shouldn’t have to get over what happened in her past, and her other friend should have been more supportive of everything

Ethan, overall he is a good guy who is just an idiot when it comes to his twin. But Evan needed to learn a lesson because he can’t go through life like that…and I think that at least from the standpoint of Ethan, Ethan learned a lot from this experience, and after it all, I think him and Gwen are the perfect couple.

Told in dual POV you get great insight into both of their heads. You really could see how torn up Ethan was about everything and how his feelings grew and grew throughout the weekend. And Gwen also felt more and more comfortable with him. There were some funny moments, some sweet moments and also a few sad ones. This book had a little bit of everything.
